ORB explores how a spherical form can emerge from simple, flat parts. The slot geometry controls the curvature, connection logic, and structural behavior of the individual strips.

Slot-based spherical geometry from laser-cut sheet metal
Slot Geometry
The individual strips are laser-cut from flat sheet metal, slotted together, and spot-welded at the crossing points. The spherical form results from the calculated slot geometry: the position, angle, and density of each slot determine the overall shape.
Design and Fabrication
The strips are laser-cut flat and can be produced in various materials and finishes. All variants are based on the same calculated geometry.
Scope
Geometric system development and fabrication logic for a spherical construction made from flat sheet metal strips.
